YouTube’s TrueView Changes: Good New for Brands Using Programmatic Advertising in 2016

Now, thanks to changes to YouTube’s TrueView ads, Google is making it easier than ever for brands to keep users engaged. How?

  1. TrueView ads are now more social. They can deliver incremental view counts on a YouTube channel, which leads to better organic search placement for an advertiser’s content. Plus, because the ad has to live on YouTube, people can visit your YouTube channel and share the spot.
  2. TrueView ads can now build even greater engagement. Now advertisers will only pay for users who are actually engaged with the content, who either click on the ad, watch the full ad, or at least :30 seconds of an ad that’s longer than :30s.
  3. TrueView ads are more strategic than ever. They can target videos on YouTube search results as well as selected verticals and channels, which can increase relevancy and potential user engagement.

With TrueView’s new interactive cards, brands have even more ways to engage with users by providing information about the brand or products, a list of related videos or playlists, or links to a website.

Plus, TrueView cards now work on tablets and smartphones where previously they were only visible on desktop.
